The current Classical Revival courthouse, built in 1911-12, is the second building on the courthouse square site. An original limestone building was built in 1869 and expanded in 1878. The current building is one of ten courthouses designed by W.F. Gernandt. In 1999, it was renovated, made handicap accessible, and landscaped.
